Falcon 9 Galaxy 31&32 Rocket Launch

A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket will launch the Galaxy 31 and Galaxy 32 commercial communications satellites for Intelsat. Built by Maxar, Galaxy 31 and Galaxy 32 will be positioned in geostationary orbit to provide C-band video and television broadcast services in the United States. The Falcon 9’s first stage booster will be expended on this mission. Delayed from Nov. 8 by Subtropical Storm Nicole.

Veterans Day

Please join Flagler County and the City of Palm Coast at the Flagler Auditorium,5500 State Rte 100 from 10am-1pm for a Veterans Day Ceremony, followed by a barbecue luncheon for veterans and their families. The barbecue luncheon will be distributed in a drive-through format, to keep everyone dry.

Registration is not required for the ceremony.

The luncheon is free for veterans and their families, but it is ticketed and requires pre-registration.

 Veterans must pre-register with their veteran group in person at the Palm Coast Community Center. 

A representative from your service organization may register for your entire group.

Sing along with talented musicians at the Gamble Rogers Memorial State Recreation Area

Bring your own instruments and enjoy acoustic jam sessions to honor the memory of James Gamble Rogers IV, the Florida folk musician who rescued a swimmer in the rough surf in 1991.

Veterans Day-The White Table Ceremony

In recognition of Veterans Day 2022, Flagler County Public Library presents "The White Table Ceremony."

Please join as we honor the POW/MIAs from all wars on Thursday, November 10, 2022 at 12:00pm.  

The POW/MIA Honor Guard detachment of 157 Air Force ROTC at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University will perform the ceremony.

Refreshments to follow provided by the Friends of the Library.

Space Launch System Artemis 1

NASA’s Space Launch System heavy-lift rocket will launch on its first test flight with an uncrewed Orion spacecraft. The mission, known as Artemis 1, will place the Orion spacecraft into orbit around the moon before the capsule returns to Earth for splashdown in the Pacific Ocean. Ten small CubeSat rideshare payloads will also launch on the Artemis 1 mission. Delayed from February, March, April, May, and June. Scrubbed on Aug. 29 by engine cooling issue. Scrubbed on Sept. 3 by hydrogen leak. Delayed from no earlier than Sept. 23 to allow more time to prepare for tanking test. Delayed from Sept. 27 due to threat from Hurricane Ian. Delayed from Nov. 14 due to threat from Tropical Storm Nicole.
